Quite a title. It’s almost a chapter by itself, isn’t it? It might seem a little verbose for the title of a book, but I wanted to underscore the fact that this really was an undertaking very much like a journey.
In this book, we’ll try to gain an understanding of why it’s critical, and without exaggerating, may even be life-threatening, for you to beat that sugar addiction and keep it in chains somewhere in the dungeons of your mind.
Because sugar impacts your immune system and homeostatic processes so significantly, it can literally be making you sick for life, especially in the more mature years after years of self-abuse, and when your body is less efficient at recovering from that abuse. If this sounds a little like a horror story, that’s because it is.
